Brandon Sips the Killer Martini

Brandon Sips the Killer Martini

In late December, 2006 my daughter Brandi and I got stuck in Houston overnight on our way to Las Vegas. Long story short we decided not to stay in the airport overnight and took a taxi to the downtown area of Houston. While there we came across a tavern – a tavern by night and a tailor shop by day. It was one of the most unique bars I’ve ever been in. However, Brandi discovered she does not at all like a martini. I believe she said, “it tastes like Windex”.

In the fall of 2007 my son Brandon and myself stayed overnight in Houston on our way to College Station, Texas to attend the Texas A&M vs Kansas college football game. I couldn’t resist going to downtown Houston and trying to find the same bar again. As you can see from this shot we found it. I’m going to have to find the name of that place because not only is the bar unique they have the best martini I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking.

The picture here of this visit to that bar won’t be my last visit!

    • Your comment mad me chuckle as I’ve heard similar comments about a martini before. I openly admit that a martini is an acquired taste to say the least and I personally prefer mine “dirty” as I find a dash of olive juice and an extra olive or two in my glass takes some of the bitterness off the vermouth. But as you say… to each their own – what a boring place the world would be if everyone were just like me.
